Africa-Press – Rwanda. Espoir FC have acquired the services of former Rayon Sports midfielder Pierrot Kwizera on a one-year deal.

Kwizera, 33, made a name for himself in Rwandan football during his first spell with Rayon Sports between 2015 and 2018. He inspired the Blues to the 2016 Peace Cup and the 2016/17 league title before helping them reach the quarter-finals of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.

He joins Espoir are aiming to play topflight football next season after they were relegated to third division due to fielding an ineligible player during the 2023/24 season.

Gorilla FC sign Gabonese striker

Gorilla FC on Monday, August 4, announced the signing of Gabonese striker Chancelor Ndong Mengue on a two-year deal.

Ndong Mengue arrived in Kigali on July 21, where he was to undergo a trial at Rayon Sports. However, he failed to impress head coach Lotfi Afahmia during the pre-season, opening doors to Gorilla FC to negotiate a deal with the player.

Ndog previously played for Union Sportive d’Oyem in Gabon, and in the 2024/25 season, he helped them finish in seventh in the league, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in the process.

He becomes Gorilla FC’s latest signing after Narcisse Masudi who joined from Amagaju FC, Mosengo Tansele from Kiyovu Sports and Jean Bosco Akayezu from AS Kigali.

Meanwhile, Congolese trio Faura Samuel Gedeon, Girboud Mambanzikila Kondi, Bambela Bagonde Lomry completed move to AS Muhanga. They signed a two-year deal each.

Rutsiro FC have also signed the midfielder Tanda Bonyambala Beletika from Goma City Academy in a deal that will see him play for the club until 2028.

The club also Edison Muganza from Marines Fc, Rachid Mutebi and Amani Habimana.

Elsewhere, former APR striker Chidiebere Nwobodo has returned to his home country Nigeria where he signed a two-year deal with Rangers FC based in Enugu.
