Africa-Press – Rwanda. Stakeholders from across Magbema Chiefdom gathered in unity at Kalamusaya Night Club over the weekend to honour Hon. Paramount Chief Bai Farma Tass Bubu N’Gbak IV at a landmark football jersey unveiling for Bai Farma FC.
The event, attended by civil society leaders, community figures, and football supporters, celebrated the unveiling of new jerseys for Bai Farma FC, a club founded and sustained by the Paramount Chief. The club has become a symbol of community pride and leadership under Chief Bai Farma’s guidance.
In remarks at the ceremony, stakeholders praised the Paramount Chief for his visionary leadership and investment in youth empowerment through sports and education. Many supporters highlighted the importance of the club’s role in fostering talent and opportunity for young people in Magbema Chiefdom.
Participants were moved by revelations that several players from Bai Farma FC are currently pursuing higher education, with a number already graduating in disciplines such as medicine, education, social work, technical studies, and management. This achievement underscored the broader impact of the football initiative beyond the pitch.
Despite shouldering much of the club’s financial burden personally, Chief Bai Farma has remained dedicated to youth development, skills training, and talent discovery, according to community leaders. Civil society representatives described the occasion as a call to collective support for the Paramount Chief’s ongoing efforts to nurture young talent and promote human capital development across the district.
The ceremony also saw an outpouring of financial and material pledges from local groups and individuals, including:
Le 2 million from the Civil Society Movement
Le 10 million and five footballs donated by Chairman Alim
USD 100 contributions from Junior Kanu (CEO, NP Madamaya) and Andrew Supremo (Manager, Malador Fuel Station)
Le 3 million and five footballs by CEO Med Bangs, Executive Director of KaDDRO
Le 2 million by Drivers Union Chairman Mr. Mohamed Wurrie
Le 500 from Medical Superintendent Dr. Esther Pkakiwa

Other football clubs pledged technical assistance, and Manager Janneh of Radio Kolenten promised support from six radio stations to raise public awareness about the club’s activities and mission.
Organisers stressed that although some stakeholders were unable to attend the event, the message of support and open collaboration remains strong.
They said the jersey unveiling was not just a sporting celebration, but a powerful affirmation that traditional leadership rooted in humility and vision can use sport as a tool for education, unity, and sustainable youth development in Magbema Chiefdom and beyond.
