Africa-Press – Rwanda. Stade Tunisien defensive midfielder Bonheur Mugisha has sealed move to Egyptian side Al Masry SC on a two-year deal at an undisclosed transfer fee.
Times Sport understands that the Rwanda international will pocket a signing on fee in excess of $450.000 (approx Rwf 650 million).
Mugisha has already said goodbye to his Stade Tunisien teammates and fans in an emotional farewell message via his intagram account.
“I just want to say thank you. Everyday of the season was full of memories, even with the ups and downs. Thanks to my teammates, to the coaches, the administration and most of all, the amazing fans. All your love and support meant so much to me. Wishing you the very best in all the upcoming seasons. Much love and respect,” the Amavubi midfielder said in a statement.
“I made good memories with everyone, I learned and grew a lot… Life brings changes, but I will always carry this team in my heart. I learned and grew a lot,” he added.
Mugisha is set to embark on a new adventure at Al Masry SC after an impressive spell at Stade Tunisien
where he helped the club qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
His signing is part of the club head coach Nebil Kouki’s plan to rebuild his team ahead of the new season.
Mugisha caught Kouki’s attention during his monitoring of the Tunisian league, thanks to his physical strength and ability to link play between the lines.
Kouki took advantage of the team’s training camp in Sousse, Tunisia, to conduct direct negotiations with the Rwandan player in order to expedite the signing before the summer transfer window closes.
Mugisha, 25, previously played for Heroes Football Academy, Mukura Victory Sports and playing for APR FC in Rwanda before moving to AS Marsa in 2023 and Stade Tunisien a season later.
