Africa-Press – Rwanda. As the mid-year transfer window continues to unfold, a number of rumours continue to circulate, linking players and coaches to new clubs.
Among the most talked-about is Rayon Sports’ star midfielder Kevin Muhire, who is reportedly attracting interest from Jamus SC of South Sudan.
Regarded as the best midfielder in the Rwandan Premier League (RPL), the 26-year-old played a pivotal role for Rayon Sports last season, helping the team finish as runners-up in both the league and the Peace Cup. The achievements secured them a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Jamus SC, one of South Sudan’s football powerhouses, regularly competes on the continental stage, including in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In coaching news, Moroccan tactician Adil Erradi Mohamed is reportedly among the top candidates being considered for the Police FC head coach role, following the departure of Vincent Mashami, who coached the team last season.
Erradi is no stranger to Rwandan football, having coached APR FC from 2019 to 2022. Police FC is also said to be considering other candidates, including Tunisian coach Ben Moussa, another former APR FC head, and Congolese coach Guy Bukasa, who previously managed Rayon Sports and AS Kigali.
On the player front, Police FC has released four players as part of its squad overhaul ahead of the new season.
The departures include Abedi Bigirimana, who is reportedly close to joining Rayon Sports, as well as Ghanaian striker Peter Agblevor, whose two-year stint at the club has come to an end. Djibrin Akuki and Eric Niyonsaba have also been released.
Police FC finished fourth in the Rwanda Premier League last season and secured third place in the Peace Cup.
Elsewhere, Musanze FC is reportedly set to part ways with head coach Sosthène Habimana. Meanwhile, second division side Sunrise FC has appointed Gaspard Munyeshema on a one-year deal to replace Ugandan tactician Jackson Mayanja.
