Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwandan rider Eric Muhoza has been named in Team Amani’s final squad for the 18th edition of Tour du Rwanda, scheduled for February 22 to March 1.
Muhoza headlines the five-man roster for the Kenya-based team which aim for an improved performance in this year’s race.
Coached by Clint Hendrick, Team Amani’s lineup also features fellow Rwandan Samuel Niyonkuru, Ugandan duo Shafik Mugalu and Paul Miro, and Ethiopian rider Desta Amaniel.
Muhoza and Niyonkuru are already in camp at the Africa Rising Cycling Centre in Musanze, while the remaining three riders are expected to join from Kenya on February 18.
Tour du Rwanda 2026 offers Muhoza another chance to shine on home roads and guide Team Amani higher up the general classification after finishing 43rd last year. In the previous edition, Amaniel was the team’s best performer, placing 20th overall, 12 minutes and 19 seconds behind eventual winner Fabien Doubey of France.
This year’s race will feature 18 teams. Continental outfits such as Benediction Cycling Team, May Stars, Madar Pro Cycling, Rembe Rad-Net, Bike Aid, and Swift Pro Cycling are confirmed.
National teams from Rwanda, Eritrea, South Africa and Ethiopia will also compete, alongside the African Cycling Confederation (CAC) selection, which includes riders from Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Development riders from UAE Team Emirates will participate, as well as established WorldTour and ProTeams including Movistar Team, Team Novo Nordisk, Soudal Quick-Step, Team Picnic PostNL, and Lotto–Intermarché.
