Africa-Press – Rwanda. Musanze (men) and Bugesera (women) teams emerged winners of the 2024/25 national sitting volleyball championship which concluded on Sunday, March 23 at the NPC gymnasium.
Musanze secured their first-ever championship after defeating Gisagara 3-1 (25-20, 24-26, 25-12, 25-22) in the men’s final.

In the women’s category, Bugesera won their seventh title after coming from a set down to edge Musanze in four sets (23-25, 25-12, 25-14, 26-24).
Nyarugenge won bronze after dominating Rulindo in two straight sets (25-14, 25-13) in the women’s third-place match while, Gasabo overpowered Rwamagana 2-0 (25-20, 25-4) to claim men’s third place.
Meanwhile, Ruhango and UR Huye were promoted to the men’s first division from D2. UR Huye won the second division title after defeated Ruhango 3-0 (25-6, 25-21, 25-16) in the final.
The pair will replace Rubavu and UR Rukara who were relegated to the second division.
