National Team Coach Names Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Africa-Press – Rwanda. National sitting volleyball team head coach, Mosaad Elaiuty, has named the squads that will represent the country at the 2025 African Sitting Volleyball Zonal Championship, set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 1 to 10.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will enter a 15-day residential training camp starting Monday, aimed at building team cohesion and sharpening skills ahead of the tournament. The camp will take place in Kigali, with training sessions happening at the NPC Indoor Gymnasium in Kigali from Monday to Friday.

Rwanda is currently ranked second in Africa in the men’s category and first in the women’s, and is looking to maintain its dominance on the continental stage.

So far, six countries have confirmed their participation in the zonal competition, with four more expected. The top two teams in both the men’s and women’s categories will qualify automatically for the 2026 Sitting Volleyball World Championships, scheduled for July 10-17 in Hangzhou, China.
