Ndayisaba powers Gisagara to victory against former club KVC

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Gisagara VC outclassed his former side Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) (25-14, 25-20, 25-22) in their sixth league match held at Petit Stade Gymnasium on Saturday, November 15.

The Southern Province-based club were playing against KVC, the team that raised both Sylvestre Ndayisaba and Samuel Niyogisubizo, also known as Tyson between 2013 and 2015.

Gisagara took the first set 25-14. The second and third sets looked so close after KVC coach Jean Marie Nsengiyumva tried to retouch his squad, but Gisagara maintained dominance, using their experience to close the match in three straight sets.

After the victory, Ndayisaba and Niyogisubizo gifted KVC two balls as a gesture to give back to their former club.

“KVC raised us, so there’s nothing you can do for your parents except thank them by motivating the rest,” Ndayisaba told Times Sport.

Gisagara were breathing a sigh of relief after recovering from their loss to APR VC in three straight sets on Friday, November 14.

“Losing is part of the game, and we have to accept that. But in that game, we lost focus, which became a lesson we learned and corrected as we move forward,” he said.

In an earlier match, Kepler VC came from a set down to beat East African University Rwanda (EAUR) in four sets (22-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15) while APR VC edged Eastern-based club Kirehe (25–14, 25–18, 25–16).

In the women’s category, APR WVC swept Ruhango WVC (25-10, 25-13, 25-14), while EAUR fell short against Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) in four sets (18-25, 21-25, 25-21, 19-25).
