Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda national football team coach Torsten Spittler is keen on incorporating new faces into the Amavubi side that is set to start preparations for the upcoming games against Lesotho and Benin in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Amavubi will embark on a training camp on May 20, before facing Benin on June 6 and Lesotho on June 11.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, May 2, the President of Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), Alphonse Munyantwali, confirmed that there are new foreign players who will be added to the team.

“They are going to come in little by little. You will see them in June, and then in September, you might see more,” he said.

Lesotho will host Rwanda in South Africa while Benin will play their tie game in Côte d’Ivoire. Lesotho was forced to use a neutral venue for this game due to the unavailability of suitable stadiums in the country.

Rwanda currently top Group C with four points, followed by South Africa with three points and Nigeria with two. Benin are currently in last place with one point.
