Tuesday, April 22
Mukura v Rayon Sports (Huye Stadium 3:00)
With the league title out of their reach, Mukura VS captain, Nicolas Sebwato has shifted focus on Peace Cup crown in bid to return to continental football next year.
Mukura host Rayon Sports at Huye Stadium on Tuesday, April 22 in the Cup semifinals first leg and Ssebwato has vowed to hurt the same side again as they did in Rwanda Premier League.
“We need to do better in the first leg at home which will be very interesting to us and look at the winning ways in this competition because we want to reach in the final and we must take game by game at a time. Playing against Rayon Sports will be one of our tough matches but we have to be ready,” Ssebwato said.
Mukura VS beat Rayon 2-1 in Huye to end Rayon’s 14-game unbeaten run and again pulled another major upset in the second round of the league with another shock 1-0 win at Amahoro Stadium in March.
They qualified for the semifinals of the Peace Cup after eliminating Rutsiro FC in the quarterfinals.
The two teams are set to play 63 minutes of the semifinal first leg match which was called off after 27 minutes due to power outage at Huye Stadium.
“I am looking forward to winning this game, our objective is to make sure we reach on finale as and I know we can. We want to hurt them again and we are at home where we want our fans to enjoy seeing their team play,” he added.
It is the replay match of Peace Cup semifinals first leg game between Mukura VS and Rayon Sports was which ended abruptly in the 27th minute at Huye Stadium due to power outage on April 16th.
