Police vs Espoir

Police FC on Friday take on struggling Espoir at Muhanga Stadium, looking to maintain winning form in the Rwanda Premier League.

Vincent Mashami’s side last week beat Gorilla FC in a 3-2 thriller and his men are aware that a win against the Rusizi-based side would push them back to the title race.

“It is very important for us to win the Espoir game because we want to move forward to the top. It will be difficult but victory is the only result we are looking forward to,” said Mashami.

Mashami revealed that, “We want to build the momentum after beating Gorilla and try to get three points. We need to close the gap at the top,” he added.

Sitting seventh with 24 points, Police haven’t won the league title since the club was founded in 2004, and Mashami wants to be part of the club’s history by becoming the first coach to lead them to their maiden league trophy.

They play an Espoir side that is still struggling at the bottom of the table with seven points after 16 matches.
