Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda National Police on Wednesday announced 31 crossing points for pedestrians to facilitate daily activities in Kigali during the 2025 UCI Road World Championships scheduled for September 21-28.
The crossing points announced aim to ensure that the event does not disrupt normal life in the city.
“This Championship is not coming to paralyze life in Kigali because there are alternative routes that will be used,” Police Spokesperson ACP Boniface Rutikanga told The New Times.
Routes designated for the race will be temporarily closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and reopened after the competitions conclude.
And, with only days to go, police announced alternative crossing points which include routes across Gishushu–Nyarutarama–Kacyiru, Nyabugogo–Kimisagara–Nyamirambo, KCC–Kimihurura, and KCC–Gisimenti.

The Police emphasized that officers, supported by youth volunteers, will be stationed along the roads to guide passengers and ensure smooth traffic flow during the championship.
