Africa-Press – Rwanda. Burundian striker Asman Ndikumana will not travel with Rayon Sports in Tanzania after he suffered an injury in Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Singida Big Stars in the first leg of CAF Confederation Cup first round held at Kigali Pele Stadium.
Ndikumana, who joined the Blues before the start of the 2025/26 league season, was taken off the pitch and rushed by an ambulance to Nyarugenge Hospital after suffering a serious injury on his arm.
Initial doctor’s report indicates that he has humerus fracture on his arm and faces a long spell on the sidelines.
Times Sport understands that Ndikumana will undergo surgery on Sunday, September 21.
Ndikumana’s injury came as a big blow for the Blues who also hosted Singida without defender Emery Bayisenge and Abedi Bigirimana who are also out of action through injuries.
Marouf Tchakei scored the lone goal of the game, heading home Clatous Chama’s free kick cross in the 21st minute to put the CECAFA Kagame Cup winners one leg away from the second round of the continental club competition.
The second leg will take place in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, September 27.
