Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Rwanda Premier League has released fixture schedule for the first-round matches for the 2025/26 season, with Rayon Sports and traditional rivals Kiyovu Sports set to square off on September 13 at Kigali Pele Stadium.
The Rwandan Premier League will kick off on September 12 when Gorilla FC host newly promoted AS Muhanga who return to topflight football after four seasons in the second division.
Champions APR FC were scheduled to play begin their title defense with a trip to Rubavu for match against Marines FC on September 14, but the match will not take place because the military side will be in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, participating in CECAFA Kagame Cup, scheduled for September 2-15.
APR FC and Rayon Sports will visit Amagaju FC and Mukura VS in Huye on the 15th match day. The two matches could take place at Kamena Stadium if renovation works on Huye Stadium are finalized in time.
The highly anticipated derby between APR and arch rivals Rayon Sports will take place at Amahoro Stadium, Remera, on November 8.
The league will feature 30 match days, with 16 clubs, including champions APR FC, set to battle for the title.
The first round of the 2025/26 league season will run through December 14 while the second round will kick off on January 4 and close on May 15, 2026.
