Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rutsiro FC vs Rayon Sports headlines a set of exciting fixtures in the round of 16 of the 2024/25 Rwanda Peace Cup.
Held on Friday, January 24 evening, the draw revealed a series of highly anticipated matchups. The first leg games of the round will take place from February 11-13, with the return fixtures scheduled for the following week.
Out of the 16 teams in the round, four of them namely Nyanza FC, Intare FC, AS Muhanga and City Boys are from the second tier while the remaining 12 are Rwanda Premier League (RPL) entities.
Rutsiro will face Rayon Sports, while Musanze FC will come up against APR, and AS Kigali will entertain Vision FC, as Amagaju battle Bugesera FC, in an all-premier league affair.
The other fixtures will see City Boys play against Gorilla FC, Nyanza against defending champions Police FC, Intare against Mukura Victory Sports and AS Muhanga vs Gasogi.
The teams that emerge triumphant at this round will proceed to the quarter finals, for which a new draw will be made.
Police FC won the 2023/24 Peace Cup and represented Rwanda in the CAF Confederations Cup where they were eliminated in the first round by CS Constantine of Algeria.
