Rwanda will play three friendly matches against Libya as part of their preparations for the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Tunisia from November 27-30.

According to Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA), more games are being considered, but only three matches against Libya on November 20, November 21 and November 23, have been lined up at a yet-to-be-confirmed venue.

Rwanda, currently under head coach Yves Murenzi, is in Group C alongside Nigeria, Guinea, and Tunisia. The team depart for Tunisia on Monday night, November 17, for the first window of the qualifiers.

They will play first qualifier against Guinea on November 27 before taking on hosts Tunisia two days later and Nigeria on November 30. All matches will take place at Salle Multidisciplinaire de Radès.

The 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers will be played across six windows between November 2025 and March 2027, with a total of 420 games worldwide. The African windows are scheduled for November 2025, February 2026, and July 2026.

The top three teams from each group will advance to the second round of the African qualifiers, where they will be joined by three teams from another group.
