Africa-Press – Rwanda. Ugandan goalkeeper Nicolas Sebwato has decided to extend his contract with Mukura Victory Sports for one year after APR FC ended their interest in the shot stopper.
Sebwato was linked to a move to APR FC after his one-year contract with the Huye-based club expired at the end of the 2024/25 season.
He had turned an offer to extend his stay at Mukura VS after APR showed interest in his services. However, the Ugandan keeper decided to stay in Huye for one more season after his deal with the Rwandan champions fell through.
Mukura VS management confirmed to that the goalkeeper agreed to sign a one-year contract on the evening of Wednesday, August 27.
Sebwato has been playing for Mukura VS since 2021, where he initially signed a two-year contract, which he extended in 2023.
He was voted best goalkeeper of the 2024/25 Rwandan Premier League season, beating Pavelh Ndzila of APR FC and Khadime Ndiaye of Rayon Sports to the top award.
The Ugandan shot stopper signed at the time Mukura VS had started negotiations with Senegalese goalkeeper Marc Philips Arona Diouf, where both parties had already reached an agreement on basic terms.
