AS Muhanga travelled to Gicumbi Stadium to hold Gicumbi FC in a tense goalless draw on Saturday, December 23.

Either of the former topflight teams were eager to win the encounter to close the gap at the top of Group B before Christmas. They fought tooth and nail to dominate possession from the beginning of the match but neither side came out victorious.
Despite the fierce competition, clear-cut chances were hard to come by. The defensive lines of both Gicumbi FC and AS Muhanga stood firm, denying their opponents any goal-scoring opportunities.
The goalkeepers were rarely tested, as shots on target were limited throughout the game.
Both teams showcased their tactical discipline, making it difficult for the opposition to break the deadlock till the referee the final whistle with each team taking taking a point at home.
The result saw AS Muhanga remain in the third place with 17 points while Interforce leapfrogged Vision FC to claim the top spot of Group B after beating Ivoire Olympic 1-0. Vision FC are, however, likely to go back to the summit should they win their next fixture against SORWATHE on Sunday.
