Africa-Press – Rwanda. Malian centre-back Daba Sogoba scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Al Merrikh came from two goals down to claim a thrilling 3–2 victory over Musanze FC at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday.

Musanze FC were leading 2-0 at the break through goals from Tity Hakizimana and Hussein Shabani Tshabalala in the ninth and 39th minutes respectively as the visitors looked to stop Darko Novic and his men who were on a six-game winning streak prior to the game.

Al Merrikh responded strongly after halftime, dominating possession and increasing the pressure. Their efforts were rewarded when Bashir Bangoura pulled one back in the 62nd minute before in-form striker Gilles Razafimaro struck just five minutes later to level the score.

The Sudanese giants continued to push forward and were rewarded deep into stoppage time when Sogoba found the net to complete a remarkable comeback and extend Al Merrikh’s winning streak to seven matches.

The victory moved Al Merrikh to second place on 24 points, five points behind league leaders Police FC, who have played three games more.
