Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda’s national cycling team head coach David Louvet on Monday, August 11, summoned riders to the training camp in preparation for the much-anticipated in preparation for the upcoming World Road Race Championship.
The prestigious annual cycling event attracts professional cyclists from across the globe and will this year take place in Kigali from September 21-28, marking the first time happening on African soil since its inception in 1930.
Louvet selected a contingent of 34 riders including, 21 men and 13 women, who started training at African Rising Cycling Center in Musanze on Monday.
The rosters
Elite men: Moise Mugisha, Vanqueur Masengesho, Eric Manizabayo, Shemu Nsengiyumva, Eric Muhoza, Mike Uwiduhaye, Eric Nkundabera, Patrick Byukusenge, Jeremie Ngendahayo and Jean Claude Nzafashwanayo.
U23 men: Samuel Niyonkuru, Etienne Tuyizere, Jean De Dieu Manizabayo, Kevin Nshutinamagara, Shadrack Ufitinema, Phocas Nshimiyimana, Aime Ruhumuriza and Espoir Uhiriwe
U19 men: Moise Ntirenganya, Pacifique Byusa and Didier Twagirayezu.
Women Category
Elite women: Diane Ingabire, Valentine Nzayisenga, Xaverine Nirere and Violette Neza
U23 women: Djazilla Mwamikazi, Charlotte Iragena, Martha Ntakirutimana, Dimina Ingabire and Mariatha Byukusenge
U19 women: Yvonne Masengesho, Gisele Ishimwe, Liliane Uwiringiyimana and Grace Niyogisubizo.
