APR women basketball club point guard Odile Tetero is all smiles in the camp after her contribution to the team’s powerful start to the FIBA Zone V women’s championship.

The Rwandan champions launched their campaign in grand style, defeating Burundian outfit Gladiators 86-68 at Lycée de Kigali gymnasium on Sunday, October 29.

Tetero enjoyed a perfect start with a starring display, dropping a game-high 21 points for the army side.

It’s a performance that left the point guard hungrier to deliver even more to the team’s output when they face Tanzania’s Vijana Queens on Tuesday night.

“I am very happy for the performance, and I am thankful to my teammates. We worked together and this is the beginning. The focus is on the next game and we hope to win and finish on top of the group,” she told Times Sport.

Tetero, 25, was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2023 women’s basketball league playoffs as she went on to guide APR Women to the championship.

The FIBA Zone V women’s championship acts as a qualifier for the 2023 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women which will take place in Egypt on December 8 through 17, bringing together 10 women’s basketball clubs from all over the continent.
