Africa-Press – Rwanda. Three players of the Guinean national team did not make the trip to Cameroon for the impending 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after they tested positive for Covid-19 before the team’s departure on Friday.

According to a statement by the Guinean Federation, defender Mikael Dyrestam who plays his club football for Sarpsborg in Norway, goalkeeper Kemoko Camara, as well as striker Seydouba Soumah returned positive tests and are currently in isolation in Kigali.

Guinea, who are housed in Group B alongside Malawi, Senegal, and Zimbabwe, will open their account against the “Flames” of Malawi on Monday. They played two friendly games against the Amavubi of Rwanda during their camping in Kigali. They lost the first game 3-0 and won the return fixture 2-0.
