‘Tshabalala’ insists AS Kigali can only get better

Africa-Press – Rwanda. AS Kigali striker Shabani Hussein “Tshabalala” says his side is a tough force with potential to maintain their form and finish the season on a positive note.

The Citizens have become a team to beat under Congolese coach Guy while Tshabalala’s return in the second round of the season saw the club’s attack turn itself into one of the most feared in Rwanda.

The veteran striker maintains that the club has quality and he believes, with the introduction of some new faces, the teams will again become a force to reckon with sooner than later.

“This team is different from the ones we had previously. Of course some of the guys are still around. From how we are playing, there are big prospects in this team and we will be more fearful soon,” the Burundian told Times Sport in an interview.

Tshabalala had a great game in the 2-2 draw with APR FC and, despite not finding the back of the net, he was a torn in the flesh of the APR central defense of Clement Niyigena and Yunusu Nshimiyimana.

The Burundian emphasized that it was a good game and it could have gone to either side as it ended in a draw.

“It was a nice game, we played well. We wanted to win but draw isn’t bad. It was 50-50 and any team could have won. I am happy we maintained our unbeaten run against them since 2018,” he noted.

AS Kigali has moved to 6th on the league table with 38 points from 26 games while APR are on top with 60 points.
