Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Rwandan volleyball governing body (FRVB) will September 20 elect new executive committee that will lead the federation for the next four-year term.
The development was announced during the federation’s annual general assembly held in Kigali on Saturday, August 16.
The current committee, led by President Raphael Ngarambe, has been in office since 2021 but it remains yet to be confirmed if Ngarambe will run for another term.
The assembly also confirmed that the 2025/26 national volleyball league season will officially kick off on October 17.
One of the major changes introduced for the new season is the adjustment to the playoffs format where, unlike the best-of-three series used in the 2024/25 season, the playoffs will now be played in a Best-of-Five series format.
This means that teams must secure three victories to win a series, allowing for a longer, more competitive, and balanced tie between clubs.
In the 2024/25 season, APR VC and Police WVC emerged as champions in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
