Africa-Press – Rwanda. 2024/25 women’s volleyball season best setter, Iris Ndagijimana, has signed a two-year contract extension with Police Women’s Volleyball Club ahead of the new season that is set to commence in October.

The former Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) player joined the law enforcers in the 2022/23 season, the same year the club debuted in the national league.

Ndagijimana’s contract renewal follows the club’s recent signing of Kenyan setter Brian Melly Kipkirui on the men’s team, which is coached by Fred Musoni. Speaking after extending her stay, Ndagijimana expressed her gratitude and underlined her ambitions with the team.

“This extension means a lot to me. There is still a lot to achieve. This season, I won trophies, and I’m looking forward to winning even more next season with Police,” she said.

Police secured three trophies in the 2024/25 season under the guidance of coach Christian Hatumimana. She played a pivotal role in helping Police clinch their first-ever national women’s volleyball league title after defeating APR in the finals series 2-1. Her standout performances earned her the Best Setter of the Season award.

On June 22, she was also named Best Setter at the 2025 Genocide Memorial Tournament, where Police overcame her former club, RRA, in a tightly contested four-set thriller.

That triumph was followed by victory in the Liberation Cup, where Ndagijimana steered the team through a dramatic five-set final (22-25, 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 15-10) against APR WVC
