Kepler volleyball club outplayed Police in four sets to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three semi-final series of the 2024 playoff games of the national volleyball league.

Kepler and Police played a tightly contested and entertaining game at Ecole Belge Gymnasium, but it was the former who prevailed with a win before their cheering fans after taking home the game with 3-1 sets.

Fidèle Nyirimana’s side claimed the first set with 25-23 but Police quickly responded and took the second set 25-22 before Kepler took the last two sets 30-28 and 25-17 to win the game and lead the series ahead of Saturday’s Game 2, same venue.

In another semi-final game, APR overcame Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in a four-set thriller to take an advantage ahead of Game 2 on Saturday.

In the women category, APR women volleyball club secured the first win of the best-of-three semi-final series after beating Ruhango 3-0, while Police overpowered RRA in 3-2.

All the playoffs are taking place at Ecole Belge Gymnasium.

The winners from each playoff series will qualify for the final that will take place next weekend.
