Africa-Press – Rwanda. Police volleyball teams, men and women, have confirmed their participation in the forthcoming African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Zone V Club Championship.

The tournament will take place at Lugogo Indoor Stadium, Uganda, from February 26 to March 4.

“Our teams, men and women, will now participate in the Zone 5 club championship,” club spokesperson Isaac Rabbin Imani told Times Sport.

The championship will feature the top three teams from 12 countries, including Burundi, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Men’s team head coach Fred Musoni Police said that his charges are well-prepared and confident to perform well at the weeklong competition.

“It’s a regional tournament that we are preparing hard for. We’ve previously won titles in this African club championship, and we are looking forward to winning it again this time,” Musoni said.

Police men’s team won the 2023 Zone V Club Championship, defeating Sport-S in the final. The victory was a sweet revenge after losing 3-2 loss against the same opponent in the group stages.

In the women’s category, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) reached the final of the previous Zone V Championship edition after losing to Kenya’s Pipeline Corporation in the final.
