The Republican Task Force (TFR), an entity of the presidential movement, called on Thursday, the allies of the Benno Bokk Yaakaar BBY coalition and the members of the Alliance for the Republic (APR) to work towards « unity around » the candidate who will be chosen by President Macky Sall for the presidential election of February 2024.
« The TFR urges the comrades of the APR, BBY and the entire presidential majority to work in this direction so that together, around the chosen candidate, guarantee through the ballot box, on the evening of February 25, 2024 , the continuity of the Emerging Senegal PSE Plan until its end for the great benefit of the populations”, declared the spokesperson of the day, Mamadou Ndione, during a press conference.
In a sub-regional context « of instability exacerbated by the geopolitical stakes linked to the oil and gas resources of our country », he added that « the time is not for utopian solitary escapes, but for the Alliance of all sensitivities for the higher interest of the Republic ».
The Republican Task Force is « in this same posture of dignity and remains attentive to the President of the Republic » and also believes that » this posture of dignity and patriotism must push everyone to silence their selfish ambitions », said -he says.
Returning to the speech given on July 3 by the Head of State Macky Sall, during which he announced that he was not a candidate for the presidential election of February 25, 2024, Mamadou Ndione praised his « stature as a man of ‘State « .
« This historic decision unanimously hailed in Senegal, in Africa and in the world once again proves the stature of a statesman of our leader who has finished placing Senegal on the irreversible ramp of emergence with strong guaranteeing institutions. of peace, democracy and stability, » he said.
The TFR, which brings together several directors general and public administration executives, highlighted the results of President Macky Sall.
» Today, it is thanks to the vision of President Macky Sall that the quantity and quality of highways, roads, tracks, bridges, boreholes, solar power plants, wind power plants, ministerial spheres, universities, high schools, schools, buses, train sets, the TER, soon the BRT, regional airfields, Air Senegal and Defense and Security Forces planes, hospitals, centres, posts and health huts, boreholes and castles of water, agricultural, fishing and pastoral machinery and equipment, in short, all infrastructure for economic, social and security purposes,” said Mamadou Dione.
He noted that “it is thanks to the first phase of the PSE that average growth in Senegal rose from 3.0% between 2009 and 2013 to 6.6% between 2014 and 2018”. “(…) despite the powerful shock of Covid-19, our country (…) will have growth increasing by 7.8% on average over the period 2024-2026”.
