Africa-Press – Senegal. Producers and cultural actors announce that they want to make the city of Saint-Louis (north) the capital of documentary film in Africa, noted APS.

According to Dominique Olier, one of the coordinators of the international documentary film festival, the fourteenth edition of which ended on Saturday in the northern capital, « Saint Louis is well on its way to becoming the capital of African documentary film », noting that the major objective of this festival is to « promote documentary films from Africa and Haiti ».

He noted that all the other outdoor screening sessions took place in « excellent conditions » at the Center for Research and Documentation of Senegal (CRDS), in Guet-Ndar, Darou, Pikine, Gandiole and in Mouit, neighborhoods of the city of Saint Louis.

Some eighteen countries were represented at this 14th edition, informs Mr. Olier, welcoming « the popular enthusiasm » aroused by the festival which also allowed film screenings in about fifteen schools in the city.
