Africa-Press – Senegal. The Circle of Friends of Books and Reading (CALLK) of Kédougou opened this Friday the third edition of the Festival of “72 hours of slam and poetry”, at Boushra Kane elementary school, located in the municipality of Saraya.
“The book, a tool at the service of teaching and learning for young people” is the theme of this event.
“After two years of celebration of the festival in the municipality of Kédougou, we said to ourselves that we had to broaden our horizons and that we could benefit other students in the region, in particular the department of Saraya”, declared Moussa Seydou Diallo, coordinator and initiator of the Festival of 72 hours of slam and poetry.
He was speaking at the opening ceremony of this festival, chaired by the deputy sub-prefect of the district of Bembo, Mbaye Seck.
Moussa Seydou Diallo thanked all his partners, the administrative and local authorities and the artists from Dakar for the success of this third edition.
Il a exprimé son souhait de voir les élèves s’intéresser »beaucoup plus à la lecture du livre pour apaiser les cœurs et les tensions afin de prévenir les conflits ».
»Il faut allier le pédagogique et le ludique. Le pédagogique ici, c’est le livre. Et le ludique, c’est le slam, qui est une forme de poésie musicalisée qui peut attirer les élèves », a-t-il expliqué.
M. Diallo a invité les collectivités territoriales de la région de Kédougou à inscrire le festival dans leur plan annuel d’investissement, pour faire adhérer les autres autorités et pérenniser l’activité.
L’adjoint au sous-préfet de Bembou, Mbaye Seck, a salué »cette belle initiative » des amis du livre et de la lecture de Kédougou. »C’est vraiment une grande opportunité pour nous autorités administratives mais également pour les élèves justement à qui ce festival est destiné », a-t-il dit.
Le Cercle des amis du livre et de la lecture a remis des prix aux autorités locales, administratives et aux journalistes pour services rendus aux populations de Saraya. Un panel sur le livre et la lecture a clôturé la première journée.
