The Israeli Embassy in Senegal offered, on Wednesday, a stone crusher machine to the Les Colombins Association to enable this artistic creation space which welcomes children with disabilities, produce more ceramic ware, slabs, briquettes, architectural ceramics and architectural pottery, found the APS.
“This machine will allow us to multiply what we are already doing. We plan to make slabs, briquettes, architectural ceramics and architectural pottery in the future”, said Ibrahima Ndiaye director and founder of the Association Les Colombins, a unique artistic creation space, dedicated to the work of clay. which aims at the social integration of the deaf, dumb, hard of hearing and disabled.
He spoke during the reception ceremony for the machine at the Association’s headquarters in Ouakam, in the presence of the artist Kalidou Kassé, local customary and administrative authorities.
Mr. Ndiaye magnified this donation. « It’s a great pride, at least there are people who are interested in what we do and who also watch what we do with the children, usually the children use the pestle to grind the clay « , he said.
According to him, this machine “can crush two 16 cubic meter trucks [of stone] per day”.
Ibrahima Ndiaye indicated that the Association plans to receive more children with disabilities in this center which accommodates more than eighty children.
The Israeli ambassador to Senegal, Ben Bourgel, was delighted to support this association which assists vulnerable children.
« For us, relations between Israel and Senegal are based on a convergence of interests but also on a convergence of values, first and foremost education, the promotion of culture and above all training for all, » said the diplomat. .
Mr. Bourgel says he wants, through these actions, to concretely support the communities of children in vulnerable situations to help them integrate and train.
« For us, this is a mission that allows us to give concrete color to these relations which exist and which are already excellent between our two countries », added Ben Bourgel.
