Africa-Press – Senegal. Le directeur régional du développement rural (DRDR) de Kolda, Amadou Baldé, a assuré que toutes les dispositions ont été prises pour garantir un bon déroulement de la campagne agricole à venir.

For example, he indicated that the groundnut seed quota is 6,441 tons for the Kolda region, divided between the departments of Medina Yero Foulo (3,079 tons), Kolda (2,300 tons) and Vélingara (3,427 tons).

With regard to other speculations such as maize, sorghum, cowpea, and sesame, the introduction of inputs is in progress, while for rice, 4,942 tons of seeds have been planned to meet the needs of rice farmers in the Anambé Valley, Mr. Ba said.

The DRDR of Kolda at the same time reported that proposals for the distribution of agricultural equipment consisting of 210 units had already been made at the regional level.

In the field, the producers are busy with maintenance and preparation work while waiting for the installation of the rainy season.
