Africa-Press – Senegal. Senegalese Ousmane Fall has been appointed Director of Non-Sovereign Operations and Private Sector Support at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), we learned from the financial institution.
He will take up his new duties as of August 1, 2023, can we read in the press release announcing his appointment.
« Before joining the African Development Bank, Mr. Fall was an investment banker in the structured finance division of Société Générale in Paris », informs the source, who specifies that he « spent the last four years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a subsidiary of the World Bank Group), where he provided strategic leadership for national planning and ministerial dialogue in the field of infrastructure in Africa”.
Holder of a Master of Science in Finance from INSEEC Business and Management School in France (2005), Ousmane Fall worked for 10 years within the African Development Bank Group.
“I am honored and grateful to President [Akinwumi] Adesina for appointing me to this post. I look forward to working under his leadership to serve the continent’s premier financial institution in its ambitious vision to transform the African continent through the private sector,” he said after his appointment.
According to AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, “Ousmane Fall has a proven track record in private sector transactions.”
“He will ensure the overall effectiveness of the Bank’s operations in the private sector, through the effective management of the project portfolio and the institutional portfolio in the context of non-sovereign operations, as well as support for departments initiating projects. ‘non-sovereign operations’, he added.
