« By decree number 2023-1916 of September 12, 2023, the President of the Republic terminated the functions of Mr. El Hadji Mamadou Diao, general director of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, » announces a note received by the APS .
Mayor of Kolda (south) and member of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), the ruling party, El Hadji Mamadou Diao, known as Mame Boye Diao, made a declaration of candidacy for the presidential election of February 25, 2024, a few hours before his dismissal.
Mr. Diao is the candidate of the Coalition for a New Senegal. He was appointed director general of the CDC last February. Previously, he was the director of domains at the general directorate of taxes and domains.
The CDC is a public establishment with special status created in 2006 as part of the general economic development policy of the State. It has financial autonomy.
