Africa-Press – Senegal. The journalist and CEO of the Avenir Communication press group (private), Madiambal Diagne, presents his work « Macky Sall Behind the Mask » (357 pages) as « a book of testimonies » aimed at « reestablishing a certain historical truth » about the twelve years in power of the head of state.
‘’C’est un livre de témoignages, à travers lequel j’ai voulu faire un travail qui se veut exhaustif [et] rétablir une certaine vérité historique sur des situations que nous avons vécues au cours des douze années de gouvernance de Macky Sall’’, a expliqué Diagne en présentant le livre au public, dimanche.
Avec cet ouvrage publié par les Éditions du Quotidien (groupe Avenir Communication), l’auteur estime ‘’avoir rendu justice à un homme qui est constamment attaqué, dont la fonction l’empêche d’apporter des réponses’’ à ses détracteurs.
‘’J’ai rendu justice à ce qu’on appelle […] l’exercice de la fonction de président de la République’’, a-t-il dit, ajoutant avoir apporté des réponses ‘’à des choses […] totalement fausses’’, concernant le premier personnage de l’Etat depuis 2012.
« The author plunges readers into the heart of political power by describing the major political changes in Senegal since 2012, and even well before that year, » explains a presentation note for the book.
Madiambal Diagne evokes « confidences » made to him by the President of the Republic by informing him, for example, in 2019, of his desire to make Amadou Ba, the current Prime Minister, Benno Bokk’s candidate Yaakaar in the 2024 presidential election.
It addresses, among other subjects, the “complicity” between Macky Sall and his wife.
The minister, communications advisor to the President of the Republic, Yoro Dia, who prefaced the book, invites the Senegalese to read it to « have another idea » of Macky Sall than those they already have of him.
« Madiambal Diagne invites us to get to know Macky Sall without the mask, Macky Sall on the garden side, on the private side, with a great sense of humor, » wrote the preface.
