Africa-Press – Senegal. La 18ème édition des Cauris d’or, initialement prévue samedi, est reportée à une date ultérieure, en raison des violentes manifestations survenues récemment à Dakar et dans les régions, a annoncé le Groupe Promo-Consulting, organisateur de l’évènement.
« Senegal is going through a period of internal tensions which has ended up placing the populations in great fear and unusual uncertainty following clashes and excesses which have led to loss of life and numerous material and financial damages », deplores the group led by businessman Mbagnick Diop.
Il dit adresser ”ses plus vives condoléances aux familles des victimes” et exprimer ‘’sa compassion et sa solidarité aux personnes ayant subi des pertes [à la suite] des scènes de pillage et de saccage, ainsi qu’à toute la nation sénégalaise aujourd’hui meurtrie par ces évènements inédits’’.
Senegal has been rocked by violent protests in Dakar and Ziguinchor, following the sentencing of opponent Ousmane Sonko to two years in prison for “youth corruption” in the “rape” and “death threats” case. opposing him to Adji Sarr, a former employee of a Dakar beauty salon. According to the police, 16 people lost their lives in the violence.
