Africa-Press – Senegal. Senegalese President Macky Sall will take part in the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, to be held Friday and Saturday, in Paris.
On this occasion, he will co-host, on the first day, a panel entitled ‘Creating an enabling environment for the private sector (sustainable infrastructure and SME financing).’
Organized at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact has two objectives, Elysee officials said on Tuesday during an exchange by videoconference from the French capital.
« The Summit for a New Global Financial Pact has two objectives: to create a space for discussions on issues such as the fight against inequalities, climate change and the protection of biodiversity, but [also] to define a roadmap with proposals for solutions from all stakeholders, states, funding institutions, civil society, etc., » said an official from the Élysée.
It will see the presence of about twenty leaders, heads of state including President Macky Sall and his Nigerian counterparts, Bola Tinubu, Comorian, Azali Assoumani, current President of the African Union, as well as representatives of institutions global financial institutions, will take part in the event, she added.
Les discussions porteront sur les réponses à apporter aux ‘’défis communs du 21e siècle’’, à savoir la crise de la dette, la crise climatique et la lutte contre les inégalités, la question énergétique ou encore la protection de la biodiversité, poursuit la même source. Le but visé par le sommet est de ‘’jeter les bases d’un nouveau système financier apte à les relever.’’
Les pays africains sont les plus touchés par ces problématiques.
