
Africa-Press – Senegal. New projects relating to “rice production in the south of the country and in the Senegal River valley, as well as training” are under instruction to enrich the cooperation portfolio between Dakar and Tokyo , the Japanese ambassador to Senegal announced on Thursday.
It is « the scholarship project for the development of human resources for an amount of 224 million yen, or about 1.135 billion FCFA », said Izawa Osamu, on the occasion of the cooperation monitoring committee. Japan-Senegal.
« The objective of this project is to support the development of human resources of young civil servants in the design and implementation of economic and social development policies after their return to the country, » he said.

The Japanese diplomat also spoke of a scholarship program to enable students to “learn Japan’s technology and development experience in order to put [the] achievements at the service of Senegal’s emergence”.
He recalled that the strengthening of economic cooperation and the promotion of investment by Japanese companies in Senegal are “the main pillars of his mission to strengthen relations” between the two countries.
For him, « the exchange of notes signed on the occasion of this committee perfectly reflects the philosophy underlying Japan’s official development assistance, which attaches great importance to the training of human resources ».
