Africa-Press – Senegal. MP Lémou Touré, who died Thursday at Blaise Diagne Diass airport (AIBD), was buried at the beginning of the afternoon in Pout, in the Thiès region, learned the APS from a source close to the National Assembly.

Elected from the Wallu Senegal coalition formed around the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS, opposition), Ms. Touré gave up the ghost at the AIBD, where she had just arrived to be evacuated to Paris for treatment.

The President of the National Assembly, Amadou Mame Diop, had made all the arrangements for his transfer to France, according to a source close to the hemicycle who quoted a senior PDS official.

In a press release, the latter said he learned “with sadness” the news of the disappearance of this elected official of the 1 to 14 th legislature. He « bows to the memory of the illustrious deceased, an assiduous parliamentarian and committed to the defense of his ideas and the interests of the Senegalese people ».

He presents « his condolences to the family of the deceased, to the Wallu Group and to all the Senegalese people ».

In a death notice signed by her permanent secretary, the Senegalese Democratic Party, a formation of which she was a member of the Parliamentary Group (Freedom, Democracy, Change) deplores “a very great loss”.

La direction de l’ancien parti au pouvoir ‘’présente ses sincères condoléances à la famille éplorée’’ de celle qu’elle décrit comme ‘’une militante de première heure’’.

Citant un responsable du PDS, une source proche de l’Assemblée nationale indique que la défunte était très impliquée dans les actions sociales.
