AFRICA-FOOTBALL-CALENDAR / African Beach Games: the Lions program reorganized following a few packages

Africa-Press – Senegal. The Senegal beach soccer team, following Madagascar’s withdrawal, will finally face Tanzania, this Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m., for its second match counting for the African Beach Games, which are held in Hammamet, Tunisia, from June 27-30.

Following the withdrawal of several teams – Egypt and the Comoros, in addition to Madagascar, withdrew from the competition – the calendar has been rearranged.

Only five teams now participate in the African Beach Games beach soccer tournament. These are Libya, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal and Tanzania.

The Lions will play Wednesday against Libya at 4:30 p.m. before facing Morocco on Friday at the same time.

The Senegal beach soccer team, defending champions of the first edition of 2019 (Cape Verde), largely won, 12-1, ahead of Kenya, in a match counting for the first day.

The African Beach Games beach soccer tournament will serve as preparation for the seven-time African champions for the discipline’s World Cup scheduled for December in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

FIFA announced last Friday that it has decided to postpone until next February (15-25), the Beach Soccer World Cup, originally scheduled for November 16-26, 2023.

The Beach Lions finished at the foot of the podium in the last edition organized in 2021, in Russia, and won by Portugal.
