African Karate Championship: Serigne Mbacké Seck wins silver

Africa-Press – Senegal. Karateka Serigne Mbacké Seck has won the bronze medal, after losing the final of the African karate championship in kumite in the category (junior) over 76 kg.

Thanks to this silver medal, Seck achieved the best result for Senegal at this African karate championship, which started on Thursday.

The Senegalese team had already obtained two bronze medals in kumite among the cadets, with Fama Samassa De Han and Mouhamadou Moustapha Gaye.

Earlier in the day this Saturday, Senegal’s women’s karate team won (2-0) the bronze medal in kumite, at the expense of Burkina Faso.

Among men and women, seven other Senegalese karatekas will compete on Sunday in the bronze finals in kata and kumite in the senior category.

They are Maïmouna Niang, Makhtar Diop, Ndèye Codou Cissé, Ndèye Yacine Lô and Talla Razakh Ndiaye, in kumite and Oumar Diop and Aïssatou Simal, in kata.
