Africa-Press – Senegal. The National Union of Traders and Industrialists of Senegal (UNACOIS)/Jappo on Thursday handed over a check for 20 million FCFA to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), APS noted.

‘’Ce matin, l’UNACOIS conduite par son président, Idrissa Thiam, est venue se joindre à l’hommage que le peuple sénégalais a déjà rendu à la fédération et à ses différentes équipes nationales en remettant un chèque de 20 millions FCFA en guise de contribution’’, a déclaré Ousmane Sy Ndiaye, directeur exécutif de l’organisation commerçante, estimant que c’est une manière pour eux de se joindre à l’hommage rendu au football sénégalais.

According to him, « UNACOIS wanted to come and show the federation and its president Me Augustin Senghor its gratitude and recognition for having facilitated their strong involvement in the use of communication tools such as jerseys during the World Cup ». .

« The federation had lifted the restriction measures which were in motion at the level of customs and the police concerning the products of the national football team on the eve of the last World Cup », explained Me Augustin Senghor . According to him, the executive committee (COMEX) of football wanted to “protect” its image.

He recalled that « traders had not only made a commitment to give a contribution to show that they are alongside the national team but also that they were ready to support football… ».

« At the end of this competition, all UNACOIS/Jappo traders decided to collect a significant amount of 20 million FCFA to come and give it as a contribution to the Senegalese football federation », magnified Mr. Senghor.

He hailed « an important gesture in more ways than one which is in line with the discussions » between UNACOIS Jappo and the FSF.

« We understood that it is in the interest of the Senegalese football federation, Senegalese traders to come together in the philosophy of ‘manko util ndamli’ (Unite to win) to work to develop the image of our federation but also to serve the 17 million Senegalese in equipment, » he said.

According to him, Senegalese football has made huge leaps. « Today, it is important that at every opportunity in competitions that the Senegalese can have the instruments to commune with our players, » said Mr. Augustin Senghor.
