Africa-Press – Senegal. The Senegalese striker of Villareal (Spanish Liga), Nicolas Jackson, should engage with Chelsea (English elite) until June 2031, announced, Sunday, Fabrizio Romano, Italian journalist specialized in player transfers.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Jackson will sign an 8-year contract with the English club, which Chelsea will pay Villareal 37 million euros, or nearly 25 billion CFA francs representing the Senegalese striker’s release clause.
The former player of Casa-Sports de Ziguinchor (Senegalese elite) successfully passed his medical examination on Saturday and Sunday, according to Romano.
With Villarreal, Jackson has played 26 games this season, for 12 goals scored and four assists.
He started his European career with Deportivo Mirandès (Spanish 2nd division), a club he joined after leaving Casa-Sports de Ziguinchor during the 2019-2020 season. He then signed up with Villarreal, of which he became one of the metronomes.
By signing with Chelsea, Jackson will be the fifth Senegalese international to wear the blue tunic after Demba Ba (2013-2014), Papy Mison Djilobodji (2015), Edouard Mendy (since 2020) and current Lions captain Kalidou Koulibaly , arrived at the Blues in 2022.
