Africa-Press – Senegal. The Disciplinary Committee of the regional football league of Diourbel (center) ordered the suspension of four teams in the region for « unsportsmanlike behavior, contrary to morality and sports ethics », we read in a press release sent to the APS.

The four teams hit by this disciplinary measure are Medinatoul, Ndayane, University of Bambey and Woguine.

The facts of which they are accused took place last Saturday, during two matches of the 14th day of Group B of the senior regional championship, opposing on the one hand, Ndayane and Médinatoul and on the other hand, Woguine and University of Bambey.

At the end of these qualifying matches for the play-offs, played at the same time, in particular because of the stakes, the Ndayane club, (2 nd with 21 points +8), which led 1-0 at the break, in scored sixteen more in the second half, beating Medinatoul 17-0 at the Ely Manel Fall stadium in Diourbel.

On the other side, the Woguine club, the group leader thanks to the goal difference with its +9, crushed the Bambey University club with a river score of 27 goals to zero. .

These unrealistic scores, which are similar to arranged results, prompted the disciplinary committee of the Diourbel regional football league to open an investigation in order to shed light on this affair.

At the end of this investigation, the disciplinary committee proceeded to « a five-year suspension of the four teams concerned for unsportsmanlike behavior, contrary to morality and ethics », we read in the same document.

In the same vein, the commission imposed “a fine of one million CFA francs for each of the teams”.

It also banned the coach of Médinatoul FC from exercising any football-related activity for five years, while the other coaches are suspended for two years.

The players who took part in these meetings were also given a one-year ban from all football-related activities.

According to the Disciplinary Committee of the Diourbel Regional Football League, these people and clubs targeted by the suspension are now considered to be « forfeits for all the matches they would have to play during the time of their suspension ».
