In a circular letter, the FSF says it took this decision because of the “socio-political tension and the security situation that has reigned in Dakar for a few days”.

He was on trial for charges of repetitive rape and death threats. Accusations brought against him by Adji Sarr, a former masseuse from a beauty salon in Dakar. The opponent was absent from the trial.
The announcement of the verdict led to violence in Dakar, Ziguinchor (south) and in other localities of the country. Sixteen deaths and numerous material damages were recorded, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
The Federation invites the presidents of the amateur football league (LFA), the professional football league and the presidents of clubs and regional football leagues to “strictly respect this suspension measure”.
