Africa-Press – Senegal. The Senegalese Handball Federation proceeded on Saturday to the installation of the new regional Handball league, led by Hamidou Alpha Bâ, noted APS.
The election and installation of this league were held in the presence of the first vice-president of the Senegalese Handball Federation, Chérif Ndiaye and the regional sports inspector, Amadou Bâ.
”We are delighted to have proceeded with the installation of the regional handball league of Matam. It is the only region which did not yet have a regional structure”, said Cherif Ndiaye at the end of the installation ceremony.
According to him, the region has the existing with clubs, passable grounds, trainers and an organization.
He said that competitions were held in the region « despite the absence of a league », adding that this installation will participate in the formalization of Handball in the region so that the league can take charge of the overall organization.
According to Mr Ndiaye, the league will soon set up districts in all departments so that discipline is formalized”.
”We had planned for the region to send technicians to train the trainers, but the time was too tight to organize this training. With the inspector we will see how to organize it”, he declared.
For his part, the Sports Inspector Amadou Bâ called on people of good will to support clubs with equipment and training to participate in the development of this sporting discipline in the Matam region.
