Africa-Press – Senegal. The head of the village of Bambey Sérère, Cheikh Gning pleaded on Tuesday for the asphalting of the 14 km track, linking his commune to that of Lambaye, capital of the district, with a view to « facilitate the movement of people and goods ».
“With the demographic boom and the socio-economic development of Bambey Serer, the asphalting of this road has become an emergency to facilitate the movement of populations to the neighboring municipalities of Ngogom and Lambaye,” he told the APS correspondent.
According to him, this laterite road of more than 14 kilometers “has become impassable, especially during the rainy season”.
« The asphalting of this section will completely open up this part of the department of Bambey, also allowing farmers and breeders to be able to transport their production and livestock more easily to external markets, » he explained.
