Africa-Press – Seychelles. Dinara Bonne won the first gold medal for the Seychelles

Dinara Bonne gave the Seychelles the first gold medal during the second day of the cash competition for the 12th Games of the Commission de Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien which took place in Mauritius.

She won this precious metal, yesterday, in the 100 meter T37 women’s physical handicap race with a time of 17.86 seconds on the athletics track of the Côte-d’Or sports complex.

In the women’s high jump competition, Emisha Victorin won the bronze medal, finishing tied for third place with the Mauritian Sophie Eleonore after jumping a bar at 1m45. Mathilde Mounier from Réunion won the gold medal with 1m50 while her compatriot Moana Peyrard won the silver medal with 1m50.

It should be noted that La Réunion made a strong impression during the second day of yesterday’s competition and collected a total of 7 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze medals.

In tennis, the male pair of Matteo Lavigne and Mikael Gomme won the bronze medal in the men’s doubles event, defeating the representatives of the Comoros, Yahya Saïd Ali and Diakite Fama Abdoul Kadir 2-2 (6-2 and 6-2). .

The gold returned to the Reunionese pair of Noah Saillon and Samuel Robert who beat the Mauritians Loïc Gebert and Kenrick Lam in the tie-break 11-9 -(6-3 and 3-6).

In the small final of the competition by mixed team in table tennis, the Seychelles beat the Comoros with a score of 3-1 to win the bronze medal, while Réunion dominated Mauritius 2-0 in the final for the gold medal winner.

In beach handball, the men’s and women’s teams from Seychelles lost on the identical score of 0-2 against their opponents from La Réunion. They face the Mauritian teams this Wednesday.

In the men’s futsal competition, the Seychellois lost 1-5 to the Mauritians. Reunion, as for it, had no trouble defeating Mayotte (10-2).

To emphasize that the Malagasy athletes did not participate in the 12th Games of the CJSOI on Mauritian soil, while all the member countries/islands are present in the image of La Réunion, the Seychelles, Mayotte, the Comoros, Djibouti and Mauritius .

The competitions will end on the 11th. Eleven disciplines are on the program of this 12th edition of the CJSOI Games reserved for young people under 17 years old.
