Africa-Press – Seychelles. The Seychelles Prison Service and MONDOTEK Engineering Consultancy Services have signed an agreement for the prison service to be supplied with a walk through body scanner.

The signing was by Claude Mondon for MONDOTEK and Raymond St Ange, Commissioner of the Seychelles Prison Service (SPS).

The signing took place following the completion of recommendations and procurement process.

The body scanner sourced from Smiths Detection is valued at €139,500.00 and is a first for the prison service.

It is expected that other new facilities will also have the equipment installed.

According to SPS, the walk through scanner is but one measure being applied to bolster and improve security at the prison facilities.

Installation along with training will be supervised by MONDOTEK.

The equipment will be installed and ready during the first quarter of 2024.
