Africa-Press – Seychelles. The court has ordered that three men who were arrested in Anse Boudin, Praslin in connection with a case of possession of weapons and ammunition, be detained until June 13, while the investigation in this case continues.

This includes a 43-year-old man who works as a mason, a 29-year-old man who is unemployed and a 31-year-old man who works as a newspaperman. Two of them are brothers.

In a press release, the police said they arrested the three men following credible information about them and in a search of Anse Boudin’s property, the police discovered weapons and a certain amount of ammunition.

The owner of the land where the weapons were discovered is already in police custody for a drug case.

The 3 suspects appeared before the Supreme Court yesterday morning where the prosecutor requested that they be detained for 14 days while the investigation continues.

According to the prosecutor, the three men were selling an AK47 rifle, a ‘spear gun’ and a ‘magazine’ filled with bullets.

The prosecution asked that the three suspects remain in detention because the police are still continuing their investigation, suspecting that there may be more weapons, and that this incident is a matter of national security.

These three men will remain in police custody until June 13, 2023.
